Egypt Adventure

And Egypt turned out to be everything we thought it would be. It was an absolutely incredible time and to be among the pyramids, temples, and statues was a surreal experience. We walked the same land that pharoahs walked, visited a church where Jesus, Joseph, and Mary stayed, and some of our group climbed Mt. Sinai, the same path that Moses trekked up and down the mountain. The people were friendly and we learned a lot about their culture. Our guide was so informative and really educated us about the history of Egypt. The meals were so good - lots of yogurt and hummus-type dips, and the hotels were gorgeous. The pyramids were across from our hotel in Cairo and our hotel in Luxor was right on the Nile.

The Red Sea was a beautiful place and the diving either tied or beat our diving experience in Fiji. We still haven't decided whether Jackson Reef in the Red Sea is #1 or #2 compared to Beqa Lagoon in Fiji. Sharm El Sheikh was a huge contrast to Cairo with partying all night long, short skirts and bare arms on women, and whirling Dervishes everywhere. There were lots of things to see and do when we weren't diving.

This was truly a trip of a lifetime and the memories will last forever.

Our Bucket List

Kath and I watched The Bucket List and after it was over, I asked her what is on her bucket list. She mentioned that she had seen a picture of some people on a camel in front of the pyramids and thought how cool that would be. Then on the movie, The Bucket List, Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman were sitting on top of a pyramid in Egypt overlooking Cairo and that just stuck in both of our minds. So we immediately decided to tick off our bucket list and put together our trip to Egypt this June, from Phoenix, and as always, invite 22 friends to go with us. The information is on the website at http://www.anothernewadventure.com/, but it will be 13 days to Egypt. We will tour the pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, ride a camel, take a train to Luxor, Valley of the Kings, and Aswan. We will see King Tut's tomb, the Aswan dam, and do a dinner cruise on the Nile. We will also spend 5 days in Sharm el Sheikh diving (or snorkeling) the Red Sea. We have heard that the Red Sea is number 1 or 2 in the world for diving. We will have our own boat in Sharm so the snorkellers can accompany the divers. We are really excited about this trip and the price is incredible.
